Pyramid Blood warmly welcomes Kelowna's Rinnovare to the label with the release of Orchard Magic. Orchard Magic elegantly brings together the lush cadences and richly evocative atmospheres of Rinnovare's landmark 2020 releases Suspended Animation and Aperturia, along with single tracks Still Fabrication and Familiar Illustration, into a stunningly vibrant whole. Throughout Orchard Magic, Rinnovare leads his talented collaborators through a vivid landscape where waking, dream and memory fuse into an ever-unfurling tapestry, revealing endless inner vistas.

Conceived in Tuscany during the summer of 2014, Suspended Animation became a slow-burning project for Rinnovare. Written and recorded in many locations, including Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Oregon, Israel, Mexico, California and British Columbia, memories and found sounds are fused into the soul of this record. Suspended Animation is the temporary halt of vital functions without death. It is a metaphor for a cocoon-like state: existing, but asleep... waiting for an awakening. Suspended Animation is an auditory reverie of what can happen under closed eyelids. With the help of a host of talented collaborators, Suspended Animation bursts into resplendent life.

With the release of Aperturia (which translates into “an opening”), Rinnovare began to shift that narrative into one of rebirth. While continuing to explore his signature world of sonic nostalgia, Rinnovare pushed his talents ever-further than before. While rooted in a foundation of ambient guitar and synths, tape machines, Rhodes piano, electronics, drums and saxophone, Aperturia expanded this achingly beautiful vision exponentially outward, a perfect contrast of meticulous production, lo-fi aesthetics, honest reflection, and sounds previously unheard.
